“The quality of the shelf cannot be faulted. However, the fittings provided (120mm studs) are shorter than expected, and the shelves are wobbly when fitted. We had to purchase 170mm studs and drill the holes in the shelves to fit the new studs in order for them to feel secure and strong.”

“Lovely craftsmanship and they look amazing. However I found the rawlplugs they sent were no good for my plasterboard but I had some different 10mm that did the job. Easy to fit once that was sorted”

“On the face of it these were just what I wanted. Solid oak floating shelves. They come with fixings and very clear instructions. However, there is a problem. Once put up (exactly as described into a solid brick wall, I promise) they slope slightly down towards the front edge. I belive this is because the fixings supplied don't reach far enough into the body of the shelf to sufficiently support it's weight. Eventually I had to resort to decorative cast brackets to just keep them horizonal which is a shame but I can live with it. You might bear this in mind before buying.”

Hello, Thanks for leaving us a review, I am pleased to hear you are happy with the way the shelves look. I am sorry to hear you had problems fitting them. The fixings normally work really well and we get great reviews on them. We go by the manufacturers guidelines and wouldn't supply fixings for shelves that they wouldn't work with. I am sorry for the difficulties you have had, Unfortunately it is difficult to see where the problem occurred in this instance however if you wanted to send us photo of the fixings in the wall I will certainly look into this for you. The fixings are also adjustable if you can pull the shelf forward and get a spanner behind to twist the rod clockwise.

“Shelves are of good quality oak and finish. The fixings are also strong, and fit for purpose. Unfortunately, the pale grey finish that we ordered did not appear as pale on the website, therefore they are too pale for compared to the other wood in the room. This is the only reason for not giving a 5* review.”

Hello Michael, thank you for the review. We are pleased to hear you found the shelves and fixings were good quality. As oak is a natural product there is typically variation in colour to be expected so the shelves won't always look exactly the same as this spends on how dark the natural colour of the oak is to begin with.
