“Our solid oak beam arrrived by courier about two weeks after ordering. We intended to use it as a fire mantle and opted for a shaped,medium oak finish, 4ft width, 5.5" x 5.5" height & depth. The quality of workmanship was first class. It helped that the three fixing holes were pre-drilled. Provided you have a pencil, an eye for accurate measuring, a spirit level and power drill that can manage 60 mm depth into masonry, mounting the beam is straightforward for any DIYer. An extra pair of hands is useful to hold the beam, due to its weight which, in our case, was about 18 kg. We are very pleased with the result.”
