“Seems well made, instructions lacking a little, being in the form of a few small pictures with no words. Says it supports hats but not enough room to install the included fan with the PoE+ hat, instructions mention the low profile multi chip cooler should be used but no sign of one, I see it sold elsewhere with this slim blower fan and wonder why not at thepihut.
Some more side airflow for use with hats might be a nice improvement but with the air pressure from a top mounted fan the side grills do pass some undirected airflow. Unit was very hot when taking it out of the case to install something else and the heatsinks were just acting in a passive fashion with no direct airflow once a full sized hat is installed. a slightly larger case with full size HDMI/USB expansion board might have been a better choice for me.
Screws provided with the small open fan were a little long to go through the top cover and the fan frame, leaving 5-10 mm of screw thread sticking out if the provided nuts are pushed into their captive sockets and can't visualise what installation type the additional length is in aid of and it reduces the already tight clearances to any taller components on an installed hat.”
“A well built case and easy to assemble. I used mine to house an RPi5 with active cooler and with a Pimoroni NVMe Duo with two SSDs mounted above the RPi on 25mm standoffs. It worked fine with room to spare. Also, seems to keep pretty cool under load.”
