However just beware of those USB-Serial adapters with Prolific Chips, some of them won't work well when doing a TX.

“Works well for me in electronic terms (laptop to Roomba robot). The 9 pin D connector is OK but comes with hex standoffs which clash with some of my cables. Removing the standoffs lets a metal cover fall off. Not a big problem and I suspect that my scavenged serial cable may be non-standard. Board has nice holes for fixing securely in a case.”
