“The AMOLED display really is nice — vivid colours, true blacks, touch works well. No complaints there. But once the novelty wore off I realised how limited this board actually is for anything practical.
No WiFi. No Bluetooth. For an IoT-style display board in 2025 that's a pretty significant omission — what are you actually going to display on it without connectivity? You'd need to pair it with a separate wireless module or another board entirely, which defeats the point of a compact all-in-one dev board.
Battery support is onboard which is good, but you have to supply your own — just worth factoring into the cost if you're planning a portable build.
It's been sitting on my desk unused because every project I'd want it for needs connectivity, and at that point I'd rather just use a board that has it built in. The RP2350 is a capable chip and the screen is genuinely lovely, but the package feels half-finished without wireless built in.
Fine as a display peripheral if you already have a wireless MCU to drive it. As a standalone dev board, disappointing.”
