“A great little OLED display, ready to connect to a Raspberry Pi (harness included). Easy to communicate with using SPI; can be programmed directly by sending data to the SSD1309 display controller. Display itself is very clear and bright, with good contrast (to be expected from an OLED) and very good value.”
“The packaging was inadaquete. The device, which is not particularly robust, was loose inside the box. Although the device functions, I would have secured the product with bubble wrap or paper to prevent it moving around.”
“So the first one I purchased the screen failed at the ribbon cable right under the window. From first using this if you touched this part of the screen it would go off. Now it is completey dead.”
“Locating the driver and sources for an Arduino was a little convoluted but, once found, the documentation was spot on and the display worked first time. Looks good, too.”
“Excellent device, clear and bright. Quick and easy to get the example up and running on a Raspberry Pi 5, using the included cable. Setup on Bookworm Desktop is simpler than the Waveshare instructions suggest, as the required packages seem to be installed as standard.
Now to get it working on my 38-year-old homebrew 6809 board...”
