“Plugged it in, copied an AI-generated program over, which scanned blietooth, and it worked like a charm. It's really small, so very handy for portability, and I got the pins soldered on, for future experiments. I'd probably buy one with a screen next time, as there's a limit to what I can do with this board, but it's a good start.”
“An amazing little device - I especially like its fast response when connecting to wifi and ease of testng in micropython and Thonny. This is my third. The previous ones used bluetooth and wifi locally. This one is taking commands from my phone over telegram so i can control things from anywhere in the world. The next ones are likely to be without headers and embedded.”
“Great little board. Running under the Arduno gui I was using the serial console stupidly with some code to wait for the serial console to come ready. When running with a battery the code hung waiting for the serial console! Work great now.
Also under Arduino Gui dont forget to enable "USB CDC on Boot" or you will see no debug output.”
“What a great little engine - with hardware interrupt and dual processor for threading, wifi and bluetooth. I use python and it jogs along just fine - with C it would start sprinting. This one is pulling data from the met office (and a memo file of upcoming domestic events) and doing a precis of the words to fit a small screen.”
“Great value for what it provides - in theory. I've plugged it in and it lights up, but that's about it.
I've spent hours trying to find a development environment that will allow me to do something simple on the board like flash the LED - with complete lack of success. In theory it can do WiFi but I can't find anything about how that integrates with one's own code, what kind of firmware support there is for WiFi etc etc.
In contrast I had code running on my first Arduino within about 15 mins of starting with a blank sheet.”
“Other than using the Arduino IDE and it doesn’t recognise the board as a Zero, and that’s ok really as you can select a S3 DEV board but mine insisted on it being done WiFiduino or such.
Really pleased with buying from Pi Hut, also bought some C3 variants, as post was fast as in next day for me and although you can buy cheaper from Aliexoress, I’d rather support a UK business especially when the service and post is exemplary.
