This worked just as I wanted, no configuration in the OS required, just plugged in the PoE cable from my PoE Switch and the Pi powered straight up. It does have a small capacitor/winding on it which means that standard fans inside cases probably won't fit. I used an open case, added a heatsink to the cpu and moved the fan to the top of the case. For the price quite a neat solution provided you are not running any heavy loads on the USB sockets. Fits easily on the board, sometimes the heatsink has to be jiggled a bit. It will not work in an official case with the official fan. If you need a fan look at the modular raspberry pi 4 case. I have several of these on Pi4 and Pi3 and all seem to work fine, avoids the need for three plug in PSU's
