“I bought several ESP-S2 (Pico Format) boards because I wanted to use them in Waveshare's (now unlisted) 'Nixie' clock. A Rpi PicoW does not have enough memory for my development and this board seemed like a drop in replacement. The built-in WiFi also frees up SPI transactions. I use the Arduino IDE so conversion of the clock code has been necessary and is not straightforward. I have noticed differences in design of the onboard LED too. PSRAM allows storage of images. I like this!”
