“This was purchased to make an expanded tidal display (MagPi issue 126). The demo flickers so much I thought it was defective but Waveshare confirmed this is normal operation. The screen flickers a lot when updating and a full refresh takes about 15 seconds using the supplied drivers (there are better alternatives). That said, the display is very clear, easy to see from almost any angle and information remains on screen long after the device is powered down. As a very low-power system to show infrequently updated information, this is not bad. One star dropped for the tricky and inefficient drivers.”
