“Excellent little hat that works perfectly with my Pi Zero. I’ve couple up my PoE hat with a 1.3inch lcd hat to create a small network tester to use at work.”
“Perfect for setting up power over Ethernet and connecting a usb keyboard. It also powers the LCD display I have connected. My pi zero 2 w works perfectly with this, connect on top as designed. Great addition for my project.”
“I was very unsure of this. It just doesn't look quite right somehow, like it'll work, but be slow, or unreliable. Nope. It's brill.
So far, very reliable both in terms of power and network and the speed is excellent. Can easily get 94+MBPS through it.”
“Behaves as expected and powers my Pi Zero W2 from POE. Zero is running Unifi Controller.
Easy to put together & just works.
Bit of a waste to have the extra USB's but I may find a use for them one day.”
“Interesting idea.
To get this to work at all I had to scratch the pads on the Pi Zero that the pogo pins press against, using a small flat-bladed screwdriver. Once I did this, the Pi Zero powered up and worked normally; the USB ports and wired network interface all worked as expected. (This was a brand new Pi Zero, straight from its anti-static bag.)
I don't know what the long-term reliability of this will be like: will the pogo pins continue to make good contact, or will the contacts need cleaning from time to time?”
