Getting power right on microprocessors is always a bit of a headache, so having the convenience of a HAT that does just that (and a charging circuit) is very convenient.

It works, but is not really what I wanted, since connecting or disconnecting power reboots the Pi. To be fair, this is mentioned in the product description, but there could be better clarity. On the whole I think this means that its use is limited to some very specific applications where it doesn't matter if it reboots when you put it on or take it off charge and it is not generally suitable to provide a battery powered Pi, unfortunately.

Battery has been really good for my Soms STS-Pi robot project, but there doesn’t appear to be a way of switching it off. You can remotely shut down the Pi, but the lights on the battery HAT stay lit, so we have had to remove the board completely.

As explained in the description it will shut down its output when charging. Do NOT use it as an UPS. Other than that worked like a charm.

It is not easy to power the PI4 and a touch screen from a battery but this was ideal for my portable Youtube video jukebox. It will run for up to 2 hours on one charge. There is a standby on/off switch to turn the battery off completely. One-touch to turn on, two touches for off. Fast charge. It is not intended as a UPS as it will briefly turn the Pi off when you plug it in as it switches to charging mode, but if it is fully charged you can always plug into the PI to save battery and remove the power with no interruption. Good value with through GPIO pins for easy stacking see photo
