“Fairly easy to setup. The demo Python script supplied by Waveshare takes a bit of tweaking - it is set to use 868MKz by default, but can be easily modified for the 433MHz module. The Python script puts the LoRa module into receiving mode but gives the option of sending a short message to another LoRa module (running on another Raspberry Pi) to test connectivity. Usefully it gives RSSI for the received data packet and noise floor.”
