I decided to buy the scheduler cable as I wanted to build a stereo camera for my Pi 3 A+ and, unlike other options, it doesn't require me to use GPIO pins. That's very important for me as I want to use the camera with a hyperpixel display which uses all the pins. So I put it together using a couple of cheap 5MP camera boards and an MCP23008 I/O expander chip for switching between them (as the hyperpixel has I2C pins). The cable is very good quality and can be used with long camera cables if you want to have a wider separation than the 60mm the scheduler cable provides. Also, there's no reason why you can't daisy-chain cables to have three or four cameras connected to a Pi. And switching between cameras is as easy as setting an output high or low, so it was easy to get a Python script capturing images and stitching them into side-by-side images for use with OpenCV. I think the only reason I gave 4 stars is the solder pad for the switching cable, which you have to solder a wire to for connecting to GPIO or I2C expander. I'll forget for now that my first thought was 'if it's for use with two cameras why doesn't it have something already soldered on?'. But even with that out of the way, the solder pad is very small and very close to pins on an adjacent chip, and has no through hole. So even with years of soldering experience I got a bit frustrated with it. However, overall I'm very happy with the scheduler cable and I think it's excellent value for money :-)
