“A nice display for a microcontroller that spends most of its time in deep sleep, coming awake once per hour to take readings, display them, and send them to a server. Because it's E-Ink the latest values are always visible even when the controller is powered off. I'm using the Arduino environment with an ESP8266 board and the GxEPD2 library to drive the display - don't bother with Waveshare's software which is little better than a demo. My one gripe is that the dispay comes with a ribbon cable with female Dupont connectors. These would be fine for a Raspberry Pi but make the display hard to use with a breadboard. I'd prefer to have the option to solder male or female connectors to the dsplay itself.”
