“Quite fiddly to connect power and fan connections to PIs since the power adaptor cables could not be connected before insert the pi in to chassis… however build instructions are very good and fans are relatively quiet.”
“Although it claims there is enough space for the PoE+ Hat, which is correct, there doesn't seem to be a way to use the standoffs with the racks.
If you want to use a PoE hat, you need to use one where you don't require standoffs.
Other than that, the case seems to be okay.”
“The enclosure is brilliant, exactly what I’ve been looking for having drilled and binned many small cases due to heat from PoE hats. The case is functional and doesn’t look out of place on a desktop. Definitely get the SD extenders, you’ll need those.
Biggest drawback is that the fans for this care are the cheapest rubbish I’ve ever seen! Absolute garbage, one wasn’t even balanced/straight on the spindle, turned it on and it hit the case and shored off blades! Replace the fans is my advice, but then it does (with the SD cables) make this pricey… however your IT geek mates will be envious”
“If you want to run a cluster, this is the case for you. Assembly is straightforward, if a bit fiddly, and easy to get 4 x RPi4 up and running. Make sure to also get the MicroSD extender cables to have the SD card inserted from the front - and mount that first before you add the SSD which goes over the top of it. If you are using the official PoE hat, you won't have access to the GPIO pins so you will need to provide a small separate power supply for the two fans. In the photo you can see my one in the slot where the switch would go (but my one is too large and is underneath) and this has pins for both 3.3 and 5V x 2.”
