“Built a 3 node raspberry pi cluster with these cases to rest on a small shelf with their network switch and a NAS storage drive.
Great solution and now I have a permanently installed cluster in two cases with excellent cooling from the Included fans. Everything went together so easily.
The team at PiHut quickly resolved a minor problem with a missing bolt and so now the cluster is ready to explore Python programming, multiprocessing and high performance computing in a cluster environment.”
“The Cluster Case for Raspberry Pi, equipped with cooling fans, has proven to be an effective solution for housing and organizing multiple Raspberry Pi boards in a cluster configuration. This case offers a combination of practical design, durability, and efficient cooling.
The inclusion of cooling fans is a standout feature, addressing concerns about potential overheating, especially in clustered setups where multiple Raspberry Pi boards are working simultaneously. The fans effectively dissipate heat, maintaining optimal operating temperatures and contributing to the longevity of the connected Raspberry Pi devices.
The case itself is well-designed, providing a secure and organized housing for the Raspberry Pi cluster. The stacked configuration allows for easy access to individual boards while minimizing the overall footprint. The transparent acrylic material not only adds a modern aesthetic but also enables quick visual inspection of the internal components without the need to open the case.
Installation is straightforward, with well-placed cutouts for GPIO pins, USB ports, HDMI, and other essential connectors. The integrated power and network cable management further contribute to the tidy appearance of the cluster.
One potential consideration is the noise generated by the cooling fans. While not excessively loud, users in noise-sensitive environments may want to be mindful of this aspect, especially if the cluster will be running continuously.”
“I like tgis Cluster case which Im using for a Pi4 and a 1TB SSD drive sat above it. I found the standoff posts a little tight to fit into the acrylic plates holes and a little short for the SSD drive and so used some brass ones that I already had as they were a couple of millimetres longer. The provided fans work great keeping the Pi4 temperature around 35 to 40 dgtees when ysing a nuumber of applications.”
“Really fun little case - straightforward (if a little fiddly) to put together but it looks really cool with my new Pi. The fans are a little noisy to keep on full time, but that's acceptable at this price point.
I've only put one Pi in the case for now, but I really value that the kit comes with parts for stacking two devices as standard. I also look forward to buying another once I extend my collection.”
