I like this Microwave sensor. Although large compared with some units, this will work with ESP8266/ESP32/Tasmota/Home-Assistant straight out of the box. Although the data sheet specifies 5V operation, I found that the units gave false triggering and they should be used with 3.3 supply. I had used similar mwave units which had switchable supply but these units do not have that facility - not that it is a problem! Compared with PIR sensors, I think these are far superior in use.

Great device. Exceptionally sensitive within range to very small body or object movements, and easy to interface

I should have read the description a little more carefully since I was interested in detecting range and speed, which is implied in the "summary of microwave" description, but this is simple a presence "on/off" detector. I've used a more advanced RADAR unit instead. But as usual, superb speed of service and delivery from the PiHut.

I bought one of these to play with and I ended up 3D printing a mount to place it in an old parabolic dish I'd had for ages. As is, the unit is quite sensitive to movement off to the sides of it and as well behind it. With the dish, it now largely ignores any movement behind it and the range has been extended to at least 25 meters or so. It is VERY sensitive, surprisingly so! Standing in front of it at about 12 meters away any movement of a centimeter or so is enough to trigger it on it's highest setting. Very impressed! I'm using it to detect movement indoors and turn some WS2812B leds onto full brightness over a serial radio link. Toying with buying another of these. Excellent fun and certainly works very well. Attached some photos.
