“If you are a light touch typist and you don’t press the keys all the way down then these will make no difference to the designed in click of the key activation. But if your touch is heavier then these will reduce the noise of the key going fully down and meeting the stop. It’s an improvement, but not a silencer.”
“Even though I managed to forget that place where I stored the Raspberry Pi 500+ key remover (for safe keeping!), applying these o'rings could not be simpler. The effect I would say is more than subtle. The fingers feel more cushioned, and whilst there is still a click it is muted.
Has it increased my typing rate? NO but that trick is being saved for all 8 fingers to be trained. What this kit does is give the 500+ an air of fineese, quality beyond it's means.
