I purchased this after researching several online forums, as I wanted to ensure my Home Assistant Yellow build had adequate cooling. The Yellow was originally designed for the CM4, which ships with a smaller heat sink, and I was concerned that wouldn’t be sufficient for the more powerful CM5. On reflection, I’m very glad I chose this passive cooler — the CM5 runs hot under load, and this heat sink is, in my view, the minimum you should implement. The increased surface area compared to the CM4 cooler is substantial, and the difference in thermal performance is clear. A sensible, worthwhile investment.

It fits on a CM5, it cools things. What's not to like?

Does fit alongside the fan in the case. Ensure you bolt it through the PCB carrier board. A diagram of spacer positioning would help.
