“Delighted with the Pi 5 2GB version. Using it headless as an Open Media Vault server on Bookworm OS lite installation. Much faster than the Pi 3B that I used previously in role. The USB3 ports drive the external hard drives at their full potential speed and the integrated Gigabit Ethernet means it makes a great DIY NAS.”
“Excellent upgrade fromm my previous 3B+ 2GB model... added the active cooler and enclosed in a KKSB case with 7" touchscreen... the Pi may be tiny, but it's a little monster for the size, embarrassingly making my Celeron laptop look a little pathetic. I now have a portable touchscreen Pi for the purposes of encoding/decoding a range of amateur radio digimodes and CW (via fldigi installed on the Pi) while working portable ops. Works like a charm! Awesome service from The Pi Hut as always.”
“Recently bought a small bundle of Pi bits to build a PVR, replacing a defunct Humax. I only needed 2GB of RAM for this, and the Pi4b 2GB was out of stock. The Pi5 2GB was cheaper than the 4b 4GB, so I went with the Pi5, which also has better graphics support for 4K video. I got the matching case and power supply, also a USB to SATA cable, which I eventually didn't need, as I can record straight to a Pi4 powered NAS.
The whole shebang runs LibreElec/Kodi and works like a charm. It is tiny, and can be hidden out of sight and offers more capabilities than the Humax.
Very pleased with my purchases.”
“The one and only, with more resources than ever. Built a Kubernetes cluster with 4 of them, it's really good. With 8 Go RAM each, I can run a cluster with more than 100 containers easily.”
