“Great service as always. I use the Raspberry Pi Pico’s to develop projects for publication. ‘Pi Pico based Thermal camera’ published in Silicon chip and Practical Electronics. ‘Activity based monitor and alarm’ hopefully to be published in Silicon chip and Practical Electronics in the near future. I also develop projects based on the PicoMite and VGA PicoMite. They are cheaper and more powerful than the previous Micromite based systems which in itself is excellent.”

“Pico2W is notably faster than the original Pico or Pico W. More memory and storage makes it a no-brainer if you need some extra horsepower for the same low price. If using GPIO, be mindful of RP2350-E9 as detailed here on page 1349: https://datasheets.raspberrypi.com/rp2350/rp2350-datasheet.pdf”

“Amazing that we can benefit from these sort of products for the price! I did hear that if you do a Whetstone benchmark on one of these it comes out as quicker than an ICL 1904S mainframe cpu which was all the computing power for a whole University in the late 1970s. The ICL would have had 196kb equivalent memory in total and a massive 6 disk drives each of a huge 8Mb. That would be massive physically rather than capacity - each one would be about the size of a chest freezer. Things were more like they used to be than they are now.”
