Why buy the official Pi SSD, when it's just an industry standard M.2 part? Why not? They've committed to supporting their products for years to come, the price was reasonable and the item is working flawlessly with the Raspberry Pi M.2 HAT+. Basically, you turn the slightly janky, oddball SBC into a fully fledged desktop computer that's fast and stable enough to be your daily driver.

Easy to setup following the links in the description, works very nicely with the Waveshare M.2 Adapter with Active Cooler for Raspberry Pi 5

Fast and easy to install onto the HAT, it's now my main boot drive on the Pi5 after using rpi-clone.

Just works with Raspberry Pi hardware and hats. Pi OS installed onto the Pi SSD over the internet without any problems. I had to update the EEProm but that was very easy.

Got this for an Argon one v5 case. Oddly it sits at an angle of about 30 degrees when installed in the Nmve slot on the Argon board. I booted the Pi5 from an SD card expecting the Nmve to show as a drive. It didn’t. lsblk showed that it was recognised but I was unable to mount it, probably because I couldn’t find the correct command. Knowing that the hardware was installed I removed the SD card and booted. I got the install from network screen and the installer recognised the Nmve and I was able to set up the Pi. The case/Nmve card combination has made a huge difference. The Pi is much more responsive than it was with either SD or USB SSD. Recommended!

Not much to say, has been performing well under as the main drive for my PI. Has more than enough performance for kubernetes and docker containers
