“Used it to upgrade a home CCTV from the module 2 NoIR, standard FOV angle. It's a significant upgrade in quality and FOV. I was expecting it to fisheye slightly, but it doesn't at all. So it's a proper FOV increase.
Easy to reprogram my current script and the tuning file works brilliantly. I'd recommend for anyone.”
“I ordered this along with the wide-angle Module 3 and connected it to my Pi 5, intending to use it for security and low-light applications. It is a very capable camera, and I have no complaints, so I'm happy with it. The only issue, which isn't related to the NoIR camera itself, is that I haven't found an elegant accessory to enable the use of IR lights. I do not have a traditional security camera housing because I am not authorised to install one outside of my flat. Given this, I have been looking for an IR bulb array that can be powered by USB or using jumper cables with the GPIO pins, but I haven't yet found something simple. That aside, the camera itself works exactly as expected, and I am happy with my purchase. Cheers!”
“Not used it yet as my Pi 4b+ isn’t playing ball. I suspect it has a faulty USB controller (from new) as it won’t talk to my 3D printer in Octopi and struggles with USB arcade controllers in Retropie. Sorry not much of a useful review I’m afraid.”
“Great camera, plug it in to a Raspberry Pi and it just works. Quite sensitive in low light, especially in bin2 mode, but the wide-angle lens does suffer from vignetting. Also the supplied 15cm cable is quite short so check what length you need before you buy.”
“This is the second camera I have used with my Raspberry PI 4. It has been an interesting journey testing various scenarios with the libcamera command set.”
