“Not sure if I had a duff unit or not but the middle white part on mine, (that is the part that surrounds the Pi and the fan shield clips into and the top clips onto), comes uncliped at the slightest knock or pull from the red base.
Want to take the lid off to access the GPIO pins, the middle part disconnects rather than the lid.
The case fits, but previous versions were more robust. Nothing appears damaged, it's just that the lugs in the red part (at the back where the USB and Ethernet ports are) don't appear to engage with the impressions would have expected them to click into on the white part in any but the most gentle way.
Ok if you are going to set it up and never touch it again, not so good if you use your Pi as a hobbyist.”
“Comes with a fan which cools the Pi 5 if it gets too warm. I opted to install the active cooler instead. I don't really like the curved shape though and will probably get a 3rd party rectangular case when these become available.
When I first assembled my Raspberry Pi into the case, it would not work. Eventually I tracked down the problem to an incorrectly fitted plastic button in the case, which was holding down the reset button. I pried it out and after several attempts managed to reinstall it correctly and everything worked.”
