“Very impressed with the build quality, and everything fits nicely. There was enough room for the new active cooler, and also enough room if I decide to get the M2 hat for a hard drive in future”
“Excellent value for what you get, it looks beautiful and it cools and protects the Pi as well as anything else on the market; with the added confidence that your Pi stuff will always fit cleanly and work as well as possible.”
“This case was great, but after a year's use the fan failed and my Raspberry Pi 5's CPU got VERY hot (95'C). As my Pi5 runs in a remote location powered by PoE, the first that I knew about the fan issue was when it failed. It is very cheap and cheerful case.
If you're thinking of running your Pi5 24/7 then I'd suggest the Argon Neo 5 case that I replaced it with (also available from The Pi Hut!), which uses thermal pads to conduct heat away directly from the CPU and PMIC into a large, vented metal plate which acts as a massive (fan-ventilated) heat sink. The CPU temperature now pretty much stays below 60'C all the time. When I deliberately put it under load (4 threads), it only went up to ~74'C and very quickly returned under 60'C when I stopped the load.”
“Cheap and cheerful, but worth a few pounds to protect the Pi from short circtuts and to provide cooling when needed. Note the the fan runs only when the Pi needs it so the noise is acceptably low.”
“Once i fathomed out where the fan connector was (thanks for the online help) the case fit perfectly. Love the fact that you can take the lid off to access the connectors while leaving the fan connected”
“A nice little case and comes with a fan that is not obstructed by the PoE hat. Provides access to microsd card, status leds and the usual I/O. Helpful vent slits on the underside as well as a raised top to provide further ventilation.”
