Super compact board with everything that I need for running my own ultra fast computer it is by far much more superior than most notebooks laptops or basic desktop computers run super silent with tiny amount of power consumption possibly world class in my opinion add to this the endless free operating systems and limitless amounts of software all free. It has to be the Worlds best kit on today's market place

What more is there to say? Fantastic spec for something the size of a playing card. It runs my media centre, security cameras, and three docker images. Handles all without any problems (and no doubt had capacity for much more).

An absolute belter of a machine for the price

I bought this to give my laptop a breather as it is getting old and slow. I wanted another machine to run docker containers and host web applications. It is truely a brilliant piece of tech! I currently host small personal productivity apps on Azure. The Pi has allowed me to cancel these, saving me regular monthly payments. So far, the Pi has been rapid -- far more than previous generations. Hoping to stress test it by running an 8 Billion param LLM on it. Will give a follow-up on this. My only con is the price. It seems pricier for UK consumers as compared to say US. Although, as a substitute for cloud fees, I will save money in the long run.

Got the 16GB Pi 5 and wow, it's got memory for days. It's been working out well and helping the performance of some workloads by reducing the memory pressure / swapping. But here's the thing - at $120, it's getting pretty expensive for a Pi. The 16GB model saw a whopping 657MB used on boot so it's a bit of a memory hog too. Only worth it if you actually need all that RAM.
