“It's fast but onlt let downs on the Pi5 is the new software doesn't have network or sound for it also I think the package should contain a micro HDMI for it as I had to purchase this seperate.
Up until now ignoring these faults until fixed. I love it. the 16gig version boots up super quick.”
“Very good performance, and much better they have started coming with decent amounts of RAM now! The 16Gb model is great - CPU isn't a bottleneck, storage isn't a bottleneck any more, and now RAM isn't a bottleneck.
Running a few dozen services on it for my home - everything from media transcoding to SDR stuff to GPS to tvHeadend to a Wiki to VPN and NextCloud all on the same machine.
Was able to upgrade from a Pi 4 running Ubuntu just by moving the card over (24.04 LTS and above).
Running it fanless and it can get warm but it throttles itself without issue and without even noticing.”
