Great device for projects not requiring much RAM. I'm using mine with a DAC Pro as a music endpoint. Noticably quicker than a Rpi4.

Good quality and a fun piece of technology to play about with. 8GB is enough and would recommend this over the 2GB one

I bought this to replace my Pi4, which is acting as my Active Directory Domain Controller and Airprint Server. I am waiting for some new cables before I start the setup. The raspberry Pi just keeps getting better and better.

This is my second review of the RP5 that I bought a couple of months ago. I bought the 4GB version thinking that the 8GB was overkill for my purpose, however I now wish I'd bought the 8GB version. The reason is that for the project I am working on I elected to develop in Swift and this pushes you towards using VS Code as the IDE. What I've noticed is that VS Code is pretty responsive to start with but, after maybe a few hours of edit/compile/debug the responsiveness drops off drastically. I used task manager to see what was going on and VS Code was eating over 3.5GB of memory, It starts off at around 1GB but this climbs to over 3.5GB and, if you are running other apps like a web browser, you start use the virtual memory, which means swapping, and the performance goes from perfectly acceptable to very frustrating going on unusable. I don't think this is a RP5 problem at all, I think that VS Code, or developing in Swift under VS Code is incredibly resource hungry and this is what causes the problem. So, if you are planning on this combo then I would recommend the 8GB version..
