“New to Pi so thought it best to buy the 'official' branded power supply at the same time as the P3 board and even though I have a spare phone charger that probably would have done the job.
It does what it says on the tin - provides power - and appears to be well made and not likely to spontaneously combust when you're not at home and burn your house down (I'm not qualified to make that observation, by the way, so please don't rely on it).
I got the white one which was the only one listed at the time on The PiHut website (or at least as far as I could detect) and I don't like it as no doubt it will discolour with time and look grubby. Consequently really frustrating to find you can buy it black, too. So, Mr PiHut, on that count, very disappointed!”
“Even now with micro-usb connectors being the standard I usually carry several wall-warts plus different adapters for different countries. This 100-240V 2.5A 50/60Hz power supply is now the only one I need so I plan to buy another, one for home, one for the backpack.”
