“Quiet noisy from such a small fan but as it’s going to be used outside attached to a telescope for remote monitoring it’s not a problem to me.
It would have helped to include a link to a guide on how to fit as I found it a bit confusing until i Googled some instructions for dummies.”
“Does the job but really whiney noise so if you’re gonna use it alot and be near it then reconsider. Mine will be used inside a rig that is outside so all is good.”
“I read the reviews before I purchased. ~50% people saying it's too noisy. People are funny about fans, but I'm pretty tolerant. I'm sure it will be fine.
It's not. It might be the loudest fan I've ever heard in a computer and I work in datacentres. It's honestly impressive how much noise this makes, given its size.
I had to look on youtube to figure out how to install it - clearly it was designed long after the original case design was shipped as it's a pretty horrible and non-obvious fitting.
I will admit that it made a significant difference to temperature (and more importantly thermal throttling) but even in a box, inside an entertainment unit, with something playing you could still hear the fan! Removed within 10 minutes of installation. Just opening the case is enough to cool it for now - have ordered a passive cooling kit elsewhere.”
“Cooling is always good, and helps with the avoidance of throttling when heavy tasks are being performed.
Let’s face it it’s a computer, and you wouldn’t run your main computer without cooling.”
