“I was very excited to receive my Pi4. The specifications of the new board are indeed impressive but I think it's fair to say that Raspbian isn't really exploiting the hardware yet.
The Pi4 is great for basic office type work and web browsing, however playing video content, YouTube, iPlayer etc is not a good experience. I had a go playing video files with hardware acceleration and it works fine. Hopefully after some software updates online video content will play using hardware acceleration”
“I'm glad I bought the official pi power supply, because as a novice I would have panicked after hearing that some power supplies don't work with the pi 4 and that there was a slight problem with the pi 4 and some other power supplies. It works fine so I am happy at the moment.”
“It seems that the Raspberry Pi Foundation made a slight mistake when they designed their USB-C charging port, so not all chargers work either the Pi. This one works flawlessly.”
“after hours of attempting to make the thing work I tried a different tv and it worked..the moral of this story is that the hdmi port is very choosy as to which tv it will work with out of my 3 tv's only 1 works with it”
“The new version 4 Raspberry Pi uses more power and uses a USB-C connector to handle it. This means your old RPi 2/3 power supplies aren't suitable.
This is new power supply meets the spec and is very compact. It runs quite cool, even with a USB3 external HDD added to the Pi.”
“After using several variations of the Raspberry Pi, and many many more USB chargers, I have to recommend this product, and in fact all of the official Raspberry Pi charger range. This PSU works brilliantly with my Pi4, which currently has a HDMI to VGA adaptor and a 120GB SSD attached.”
