Amazing sound needed a gpio riser to make it work for me due to cpu fan but works great. Karaoke machine finished!

Perfect addition to my 2nd pi 4 and the multi room audio player setup.Great sound quality for the money, I have the sound and functionality of far more expensive off the peg network streamer. Swift delivery, good communication from seller.

The pi pro dac is incredible, the dac chip is Burr Brown(TI) 32 bit with direct outputs so no coupling caps, no op amps, no mute circuits, this is good because they can all degrade the signal. In the pi implementation it probably can only use a maximum of 24 bits but no matter it's ample. Initially it sounds clear but a bit gritty, give it a day to run in and it smooths out. Musically it can handle some big complex passages with pace. I kind of don't understand because normally big local capacitors are needed for this amount of scale but the board is fairly light of those. Maybe it's the large 5 amp power supply that's doing it. Suffice to say if this were a cd player it would be a very good one.

Excellent sound from such good value device. Plugged into home hi-fi and gives noticable better sound than Rpi internal sound and rivals components costing much more.

Very easy to install and the optimum add-on to connect to my old ONKYO HIFI unit.

Works straight out of the box - provided that you have an up to date setup. In my case that meant v9 of the Lyrion Music Server.
