“I bought the official fan hoping to fit it in a case modified for a shim audio DAC. There was no way to fit it and so I bought the official case Fitting the fan was easy after many minutes of looking at the fitting diagram. I had hoped to modify the case to access the the DAC Line Out, but that interfered with the case locating lugs. I am fairly happy with the standard Pi4 Line Out, but can always flip the lid and fit a DAC over the GPIO pins for best sound (I have a few earlier non-shim versions).
I am not keen on the raspberry and cream Official Case colours, but the black and grey case really looks the business and has the Official Cooling Fan hidden under the cover.”
