“Brilliant little piece of hardware. I've been delving into home automation for a few months now and was experimenting on a Windows desktop. But running it 24x7 quickly became a challenge in terms of updates and general power consumption.
So turned to the RPi and now I have this tiny device handling all my automation needs 24x7 without any worries. It looks small but is powerful enough for my needs and gives me the same performance as my old desktop.
My only minor concern is that the device gets much hotter than I had anticipated ~50deg C and thats with the aluminium heatsink case on. On reading the forums, its not expected to be a problem but its just a bit worrying in my head. But its not cause any real problems so will just keep a watch.”
“These are great little devices! I've got four or five of them for various reasons and wouldn't hesitate to recommend them. If you're considering it for an embedded project then it will need a slightly more robust power supply compared to a pi 3/pi zero and some kind of cooling. Not a complaint. Just to explain that its evolutionary niche is as a slightly more 'heavyweight' device...”

Having just started out with the 4b model, i was amazed at its compact size, functionality, and how well it performs. Im running Ubuntu Server with Desktop and runs really well. On reflextion I would probably have been able to get away with the 2GB version for this purpose, but would recommend the product and also the vendor for efficiency and quality of service.”
