“Works well, maybe exceeding expectations. It's part of a camera based weather station, the videos captures are used to estimate upper air wind speed, bird tracks and cloud type (still working on that one). Other reviews have mentioned this, focusing requires some patience, I found that locking the lens in position for the last small adjustments saved some frustration. The image shows the lens ability to capture high quality videos.”
“Lens fits well on the GS camera when you unscrew the adapter that's included with the GS adapter. Took a little getting used to focusing the lens but very good image obtained.”
“Was not sure how this 6mm lens would perform with the RPI hq camera for meteor detection.
Having a 63 degree view of the night sky compared to another meteor camera giving 120 degrees,i was very surprised with the results in the morning.
It was better than i expected.
Could see more stars and even more meteors,a couple of fireballs which were so fast .
The timelapse video had to be slowed to see these .
Overall totally surprised how these RPI hq camera and this lens performed very well.
Highly recommended .”
“The lens is good. It feels good and solidly mounted to the high quality camera. The image is uniform across the frame of the sensor and has no noticeable colour distortion at the extreme corners. it is a challenge to adjust and focus the lens, don't expect to make quick 2 second adjustments to focus. The screws on the exterior dials allow you to lock in a specific focus and then you can use the adjustment ring attached to the high quality camera mount for fine adjustment. All in all a great lens for the price and a perfect starter lens for using the HQC. I highly recommend it.”
