“I've used previous versions of Raspberry Pi for a couple of years now, and found them to be very useful. I had a little project that needed a bit more "grunt" than I could get from a Pi Zero, so I decided to try this version, with its included wi-fi and Bluetooth. It's now built into a 1U 19" rack case, with a couple of balanced to unbalanced transformers, a power supply and a high quality sound card. The wi-fi connectivity is useful, because this standalone streaming computer (running Rasbian and DarkIce) can connect directly to the Router that's housed in the bottom of the same rack.
The Pi is in operation 24 / 7 streaming the output of a radio studio to a 'net streaming server. You can hear it at www.RaidersFM.com”
“I use the 3+ to run an amateur radio multimode gateway using a program called Pi-Star like anything of this nature once set up they run fine . Originally used the original Pi for a Dstar only before the other digital radio modes appeared, both versions have a modem attached allowing a FM transceiver to transmitt digitital signals. For anyone interested have a look at the RSGB website under Digital Radio.”
“The latest version of the Pi and Raspbian work very well together and will allow for a very pleasurable experience. The PiHut just adds to that with fair prices and excellent service. Both are highly recommended.”
