“Great little Pi. Ordered the zerocam at the same time which came in a protective box unlike the pi that was just in a anti-static bag but no other protection. Both delivered in a padded envelope that was split. Could do with better packaging but the pi is a great device.”
“I needed a Raspberry Pi Zero W to connect to an "Audio Injector" A to D card to build a streaming audio source for my radio station. The Raspberry Pi arrived overnight, and the audio card was fitted immediately. I loaded a micro SD card with Raspbian Lite, added the soundcard drivers and Darkice - the streaming audio programme. After a few minutes work, I had a working streaming source. I fitted the electronics into a small plastic box, with a power socket and a pair of "phono" sockets for the audio.
On start-up, the Raspberry Pi starts Raspbian and then attaches itself to the studio wi-fi network. The Darkice application then starts after wi-fi has been established, and it begins to send whatever audio is fed to it!
The whole project cost”
“Good for simple projects, but when I added an audio hat, tried to hook it up to the internet and control it remotely through my Mac, the performance dropped, which is something the larger pi could easily handle. Still brilliant for what it is!”
