Finally my Camera Module V2 arrived, this is an amazing camera. But first decide if you need a 'night view camera' (the no-IR version) or this one. The normal one.

The camera module is easy to install, if a bit fiddly getting the ribbon cable properly seated. I installed this on a pi zero using the pi zero camera adapter and camera mount. The only software setup involved running raspi-config to switch on the camera interface.

Haven't had so much time yet to test the actual image quality, but in a brief test it seemed pretty much what I expected. The only problem was stuffing the cable in the Raspberry Pi's case so the camera would see through the Raspberry logo. This kind of flat cable is difficult to bend "sideways". Maybe there could be an alternative round replacement cable available to buy for this kind of situations?

I own several of these cams and I like them. I have tried USB cams on the raspi, but nothing installs as straight forward like this one. Only downside it's not available in wide angle/fish eye!

I purchased the converter cable at the same time and now have the camera plugged into my Pi Zero. Works perfect.

As a complete noob, I found the prospect of the camera module a little threatening but it easy to use and is really helping my learn python (it's much easier to learn with a project).
