A surprisingly good little camera that connects directly to, and is controlled by, a Raspberry Pi. The only real weakness is the cable which is fiddly to connect (and the clips look quite fragile) and difficult to route because it's a flat ribbon and quite springy. Once it's set up the camera works very well.

Unfortunately, although this was working at first with no problems in a MotionEyeOS setup, it stopped working altogether after trying to fit it in a RPi Zero case. I needed to exert quite considerable force (but not excessive) to fit it securely onto the plastic case lugs. This was due to the motherboard and the sensor module not being completely parallel, and I assume the damage is therefore because some internal connections have been broken. Externally the module is mechanically undamaged, although I have removed the foam cushion on the back of the sensor in order to separate the two parts and re-seat the micro connector. I assume this will have invalidated the warranty. I have discounted the software as prior to its failure it was working with both an RPi 3+, and an RPi Zero W. Now, only the placeholder is displayed where the image should be. So, although I'm not blaming your company in any way I'm very disappointed and feel this module is not fit for purpose. Incidentally I've come across at least one other post on a forum where the contributor had a very similar experience.

When it arrived I wasn’t sure how to fit it in my pi zero case but your customer service was brilliant and supportive. It worked fine and I’m planning my first camera project with it.

I have several of these cameras and they all work very well with a good resolution. This one, however did not work at all. I contacted the Pihut to attempt to obtain an exchange. The first attempt got no response. The second attempt at contact got a quick, polite and helpful reply with instructions on how to return the camera. Which i promptly returned. Now, however, 11 days later I have heard nothing. I understand things may be a bit slower during the current pandemic situation, but thought this should be sorted quicker, or at least confirmation they have received the returned item.

Surprisingly good video quality, great package support (for python anyway).

Takes good pictures and the setup process is fast, you just need to enable the camera on the Raspberry Pi config, reboot and you’re ready to go.
