“having owned the previous model (pi 2), I really have few qualms with this model. It comes with wifi on board you can practially use it out of the box, provided you have the necessary equipment (keyboard, mouse, hdmi-cable).
I did have some slight performance issues, which are probably due to my bad wi-fi.
All in all you really get a lot lot for the money. I can recommend this little computer to all people who love a great gadget, who want to teach their children and love tinkering themselves.
I've also recommended buying this computer for the refugees in my area as they it is extremely inexpensive and provides pretty much all software people need for everyday purposes, such as communication, entertainment and learning.”
“The SoC can be now used as a minimal PC, fast enough to be productive.
Wi-Fi and BLE were the missing features and now the card is complete.
Pay attention to the heat, if your project is computationally intensive, consider buying heatsinks.”
“Being the IT engineer for forty (yes, 40) years now, and remembering mainframes class IBM 360 (clones build in soviet block) at least I have decided to buy my first Rspberry Pi computer.
Small, very easy to operate and manage muliti-purpose, universal digital computer with computing power much, much greater that all this ICL1900, IBM 360, PDP 11 clones I used to program!
I am treating this nice gizmo as a toy — connecting TI's Sensortag, playing with IoT or building my own meteo station. You are not too young, not too old to play with computers.”
