“The faster and larger RAM of the Pi 2 solved a problem using VLC to monitor Foscam xxx05E HD camera. A previous firmware update on the Foscam "broke" the camera for use with omxplayer or VLC. The day before my Pi 2 arrived there was and update for the Foscam and now the two work perfectly. There remains a tolerable two second lag but for my purposes the Pi 2 running VLC salvaged two Foscam HD devices otherwise useless.”
