The RPi Zero W is small in size but fully functional linux computer. I put it to collect data, show it on e-paper display connected via gpio and to run a web server providing the collected data over wlan. The Zero W is small enough to fit on the back side of the 4.2" e-paper display. The system was easy to put together and functions well. The Zero W is a perfect gadget for this project also from the economics point of view.

It never ceases to amaze me how much they can squeeze in such a tiny package. My only complaint is that it's a bit slow but hey! - it works!

Still amazes me just how small the thing actually is, and how cheap it is too. I'm not sure what to dedicate mine to at the moment, but as something to play around with, it's great and gets people interested in hardware.

I already owned several Pi SBC's (1,2 and 3) so I thought on giving this a go for a project I had, running a lightweight kodi box. So the project is basically have a stealth box behind the TV plugged to the HDMI and the TV's USB port, no external power, no keyboard, no peripherals, nothing.... So in the past, this wasn't possible as all the other Pi's were too power hungry and the v1 wasn't having the performance I liked. In all fairness I ran OSMC on the Pi1 and Libreelec on Pi0, so not a good comparison. Anyway, I got the Pi0 working with the Libreelec OS, ran kodi addons, played videos (up to 720p streaming, and 1080p local) without any hiccups. All this running from the TV's USB for power and using the TV's remote (CEC adapter function) to navigate through kodi. Thinking about ordering another one to serve as a file server, although this one will have external power and connected to a USB disk. I really recommend this SBC for people who need a spartan device for small projects that don't require a lot of processing/memory resources... if you do need resources, go for the Pi4.

My first pi zero w needed for a tiny ham radio project. Arrived super quick and did the intended job perfectly. Pi-hut is a brilliant seller, that I will definitely use again. For ultra low power projects this is a perfect board with low ram but very low battery requirements allowing me to make a repeater station for my car.
