Thanks guys, this made my new "brainbrick" perfect. Fits perfectly into a custom 11x5 technic plate with a PCA9685 on top/in another modified brick.

I used minimal jessie, headless setup, installed joystick-api and activated pca9685 overlay.
Pairing with DS4 and everything else went fine out of the box, js0 and pwmchip0 are also working fine. Need to setup hardware for lirc rx/tx now and write some "glue" to bring this together for my son.
