“I am using 3 pi zero w for a security camera set up. I am using Ausdom AW920 cameras. I use VLC media player to access the cameras. All works very well. The pi zero w is an excellent piece of kit”
“Plugged in to USB port, just after one minute, you can use it as a universal Unix host for testing anything you want and doing whatever you need without waiting for expensive software or hardware.”
“As a "set & forget" (albeit a bit slow, but that doesn't really matter in this application) home network cloud backup / sync thing, the Pi Zero W cannot be beaten! Set it up, put it somewhere out of sight and all back-ups can be done at night / in other down time. It uses such a slight amount of electricity that being on all the time doesn't worry me. The only thing to be aware of is that I have found that the external USB HDD attached needed it's own power supply. I used a USB mains adaptor with 3 USB ports (from IKEA) to supply both items, connected using a simple USB Y cable. This a perfect application of technology as it is discrete, cheap, and useful.”
“I have created a IP cam proxy with openvpn client and works fine. Ok, not too powerfull, but enough for some small tasks. I like it. If you would like to build a home server buy a raspberry pi 3. If you would like to make some small task, remote controll in small size, buy this pi zero w. I very like it.”
