“It's actually really cool. Am still experimenting with Thonny to do stuff with the Badger - a small learning curve but that's what we're here for. Can think of multiple uses including crypto QR code display, name badge, display for IoT data etc.
It comes with Badger "OS" on board already so lots to play with, including weather, RSS feed, image display etc.
I'd recommend getting a LiPo or battery alongside to keep it awake for your projects. I had a LiPo already which I scavenged in.
I would say the circuitry is a bit exposed - which looks amazing but I'd love a little case and don't (yet) have a 3D printer to make one ;P
