The larger footprint is helpful to stabiles the pico when developing especially if you have a display with buttons. The labels are so handy in identifying pin functions. When completed, move to condensed packaging. Personally, I like the form factor and will retain a development module with display and pico ready for the next project.

As the Pico is so light and small compared to the typically stiffer attached USB cable, the Omnibus provides a stable base and lifts the Pioc off the desk. In addition, you can have a HAT facing upwards, compared to the default underside of the Pico if attached directly. Very useful, since no Pico cases are available. I have a 1.3in Waveshare LCD Module in the photo, on which I have drawn a line pattern.

Really love the extra pins when I need to use a display and other peripherals.

Useful edition to the fray. I’ve modded it with a permanent reset switch and made a Pico Lipo Shim up to sit on bay two for mobile testing

Easy break out board and more reliable connections than the plug in prototype boards often used

The dual expander is for your convenience. it provides decks for dual peripheral addons. It doesn't do anything more than a breadboard would do. But it's nice and tidy. So, for me, it was worth picking up to plug in the Pico Display Pack (and then some GPIO wiring on the second deck).

Very helpful! Using it as a breadboard too! Best tool to use for quick connectivity of HATs together with sensors on your GPIO without the cable mess!
