“Its very easy to assemble and the pi fits in well. the case looks good but your Micro SD can get damged if you try to take it out whilst the pi is in the case (i learnt that the hard way)”
“The case it's self is made from individual layers of plastic that fit together around the board to keep a pi snuggly in place without getting in the way of any places you would potentially want to place heatsinks. All great. Wasn't sold on the plastic bolts but they are doing the job so can't complain.
However, the Pi 3B+ generates a significant amount of heat compared to previous versions even when idle. This case has no openings on the top to allow heat to dissipate via convection. So the heat gets trapped within the case. I ended up drilling holes in the top, which because of the type of plastic looked horrible with cracks and fractures everywhere but this fixed the heating problem, allowing the hot air to flow out of the case.
Even my old Pi1 case had ventilation, so the fact this one doesn't seems like an oversight.
If your Pi is likely to get worked hard I'd recommend you buy a different case. Unless you don't mind taking a drill to it.”
“I like the layered case because you don't have to snap the board into it as with the minimal cases. It's easy to assemble and modify. I didn't buy the rainbow case, rather the smoke grey one. It's quite satisfactory with the bonus of a good appearance.”
