“Clever board of high quality. Used when you want to connect several boards together and at the same time have access to all GPIO pins. Can also be cut in smaller lengths, if necessary (maybe not recommendable :-)
Using it to connect RPis with audio DACs to achieve a slimline/flat construction instead of the (ugly) bulky one when the audio DACs are placed directly on top of the RPi - facilitates separation of power supplys, access to GPIOs for power buttons, control LEDs, etc. Some person may object to removing the audio DAC from the RPi (should result in disturbance of I2S signal etc.?) - I have however never been able to hear any such disturbance and in some cases I believe that the sound is actually better with the audio DAC place away from the RPi than when the audio DAC was placed directly on top of the RPi - but that is of course my personal opinion.”
