“Attach it to your Pi, download the Python library, run the examples, and it performs as you expect. I think this is a great little device to get a kid started with programming since they can get immediate feedback (after doing the preliminary steps, that is). The quality of the LED colour subtleties is as good as the price you pay (good enough!). Anyway, I bought a Pi with this and a Blinkt for my 10-year-old nephew for Christmas and created some of my own examples (with code comments!) for him to read thru and try to learn more. If you want to use your Raspberry Pi as more than just a desktop computer this is a great, little fun beast (that's also affordable).”
“Simple and clever – the installation on raspberry pi model b+ was very simple and came without any issues. Then the software installation also came without any problems and just after 5 min we can start plying/testing etc. with our Unicorn. Specially good for a mood chill out lamp to your room.”

“The Unicorn HAT was delivered fine and works well with my B+. But I am extremely disappointed that when I bought it I also ordered and Pi 2 to go with it, but the Unicorn HAT would not work with the Pi 2 and would not comfortably fit in my early ninja Pi-bow case. I was disappointed that there was no mention of either issue when I purchased them. It is only now that there appears to be a fix for the Pi 2 issue. Issues aside, I love this little square of multicoloured rainbow goodness!”
